The frequent back and forth with insurers, fighting over what’s and is not covered, has been absolutely exhausting.
And unfortunately, my parents aren’t the only kinds struggling with this broken system. Worse still, practically half of most covered Americans are don’t have quick access to the prescriptions they want, facing burdens like prior authorization and fail first mechanisms.
And I hope that our legislators in D.C. will intensify to fix the industry. Instead of positioning undue burdens on the scientists and researchers who create the medications patients depend on, I urge our leaders to focus on improving insurance plan over the board.
