Sporting activities such as Scuba diving, mountain climbing, para sailing, bungee jumping, rides in amusement parks, water rafting, and paragliding, are usually not covered by travel insurance policies and are termed as hazardous activities in the policy documents.

Travel Insurance Policies offered by Indian insurance companies do not provide coverage for foreign travelers coming to India. Foreigners traveling to India needs to purchase the same from their country of origin.

Insurance Companies offering Travel Insurance Policies may ask the insured to go for the certain set of Medical tests if his/her age is more than the entry age specified by the policy or if the insured has declared some pre-existing medical condition.
